does any boddy know where I can get a nokia n 86? what company has it and if it comes with mobil speack or do I have to by it seprate
I had an n 86 but the charger broke. I got the phone from Virgin and steve Nut put on the Talks speech. I am from the UK. I don't know about you.
The N86 has been discontinued by Nokia. It is still available from some internet sellers but you'll just have to google around to find one. I think Amazon.com and Buy.com might still have some but it's been awhile since I've looked. The screen reader is purchased separately. Some of the assistive tech companies sell package deals where you get the phone with your choice of screen reader pre-installed. Try atguys.com and handytech.us if you're wanting something like that. If you're willing/able, you can probably save alittle money by purchasing the phone on sale somewhere then buying the screen reader license and installing it yourself. Also, this is a good time to start looking as some of the assistive tech companies have sales for convention season, although I haven't seen much in the way of special pricing yet so this may be a bad year for deals. My best advice is to play around on google and see what you find.
i ended up getting my n86 from dell small business, that was the best price at the time. but amazon and buy.com and new egg.com were also the other places i found good prices on it. i think talknav.com or something like that had the screen readers for a little bit less than everywhere else. AT&T still has mobile speak for $89 (about $95 after taxes) if you get one of the phones thats part of the promotion. So it may be worth it to start your contract with one of the $20 or $30 nokia phones they have as in the end you will pay about $150 for everything which is about half the $300 give or take taht you would pay for the screen reader on its own , then just put the sin card in the n86 when u get it and put the other phone aside.
I got my n86 from amazon.com my husband got his from newegg.com. You can also purchase it from knfb technologies not sure what that site is. If you want to get mobile speak you'll have to get it as a package from hadytech u.s. or some other company out there. hope this helps.
I got my Nokia from T-Mobile. I don't have anything that talks. My phone was 100 dollars and it's a camera phone. I have unlimited talk and text.
